My Windows has detected File system corruption, how to save everything ?

After scanning my computer system with an antivirus program when I restarted my pc, I got the error messages that were saying that the windows file system have been corrupted, some files are missing or deleted. Please install a fresh copy of windows. I was terrified after reading this because there is almost 100 GB space which is full of my files that I have not made backups till yet. The error message was

“Windows has detected file system corruption on <drive letter>. You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored”

Please tell me how can I protect all my data from being lost?

Hi Buddy. It is perhaps a very serious situation which you need to take the steps very accurately so that you don’t lose anything. The cause behind it is the file system corruption as you have mentioned in your question above. When the system files get corrupted then there are chances of these kinds of error messages.

Try to use the command SFC /SCANNOW. SFC is a system file checker that will check and repair the operating system files while protecting the critical system files and registry keys. After this try chkdsk /f to check and repair the volume errors.
