How to resolve error message “ORA-38760: This database instance failed to turn on flashback database”?

Hi, I am using Oracle 9i in my Windows Vista Home Premium PC. Last night while using Oracle database I have deleted the flashback file accidentally the database is set flashback on and when I tried to open the database I unable to do so as Oracle is giving an error message which says - “ORA-38760: This database instance failed to turn on flashback database”. Can any one of you please tell or help me to how can I open the database? Thanks in advance.

sherlynjohn 		Well, this error message is caused as database flashback is on but its instance failed to start generating flashback data. Check the alert log for more specific error’s description and as an action you need to –
• Shutdown immediately.
• Startup mount.
• Alter database flashback off.

This will help you open the database at least. And after performing that if the database doesn’t opens and error message persists then use Oracle Repair software to make it correct.
