How to resolve “Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server - Receiving' reported error (0x8004060C): 'Unknown Error 0x8004060C'” error message?

I am using MS Outlook for 8 months in my windows XP. Today when I tried to add a new message to it, it refused the addition and an error message is displayed which states “Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server - Receiving' reported error (0x8004060C): 'Unknown Error 0x8004060C'”. I am totally a newbie to this message and know nothing about it. Is it anything related to the PST file? I am totally confused, please help me out.

parisiscott 		Microsoft Outlook 2002 has file size limited to 2 GB so i think ur pst file has reached 2 GB u hav to delete sum files u can choose d following steps
-You can delete the unwanted email and other items from .pst file. You must empty the Deleted Items folder
-If the issue persists, you can compact the file that can help to reduce its size
-Alternatively, you can create a new .pst file and archive the email items to it

If d problem persist than dere are chances ur pst file is corrupted and u hav to take help from sum software. i wud suggest u to software which wrks well for me u can also download its latest version from dere site at

albertjohn 		Yes, you are right it is PST related problem. Actually when you tried to add a new message or item into the PST file, its size reaches or goes beyond the 2GB and your MS Outlook just refused to accept the data and the error message “Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server - Receiving' reported error (0x8004060C): 'Unknown Error 0x8004060C'” is thrown. You need to re-add the data after splitting your PST file; otherwise all your data’s will keep on loosing. Splitting the PST file is very easy just use any of the Split Outlook PST software in the market and get over this error message. I assure you that after splitting the PST file no problem will occur with your MS Outlook.
