How to repair the EDB file which is got corrupted and renamed after being defragmented using eseutil/d command?

I tried to defragment the Exchange Server’s database (*.edb) with eseutil /d command, but the process failed while defragmentation is on process. After the defragmentation failure I observed that the file in effect is named as ‘abc.edb.edb’, when I renamed it to ‘abc.edb’ the Exchange Server refused to mount any further and the data’s are also not accessible. I don’t know what to do? Any help will be appreciable.

denishrichard 		Exchange Server defragment its data within the database as a part of regular maintenance process. It can be done either through online or through offline. In offline mode the defragmentation can be accomplished using eseutil/d command which discards the un-used space, but it occasionally causes data corruption due to which the database becomes un-mountable and data becomes inaccessible. The EDB file can be repaired by applying eseutil repair command, but however if this command unables to repair then use any EDB Repair software to repair the EDB file effectively.
