How to fix memory card problem of Canon digital camera?

I just put the memory card of my Canon Power Shot SD780 IS in my computer to transfer the photos. My system forbade the transferring process and when I re- inserted the card into my digital camera it displayed an error message “Memory card error”. I tried the same memory card in different system using a different card reader but nothing worked. I just don’t know what the problem with my memory card is? Will I be able to recover it ever? Do you have any easy solution to this problem?
