What can I do to fix the Outlook PST error 0X80040600?

I use Outlook 2007 to maintain my important documents like mail messages, notes, events etc. But recently when I was trying to read my mails but was unable to do that. Even I am not able to send or receive mails. I am constantly facing the error "An unknown error has occurred. 0x80040600". My work is severely hampered. What can I do to resolve this error?

Jennifer Winget 		"Error 0X80040600" occurs when the Outlook PST file gets corrupted and because of which you are unable to access it. To fix this problem you can use Scanpst.exe, an Inbox Repair tool freely provided by Outlook. But it only repairs files where corruption occurs in file headers and also it does not repair files exceeding 2GB of storage capacity. Sometimes you can also get few errors while using this tool.

So, to overcome the limitations of Scanpst.exe, Outlook PST Repair tool is the best option. This tool is capable enough to repair all the damaged PST files of more than 2GB. It does not make any modification in the original files as it scans the files in read only mode.
